16K Abstract: When the "REACT" system program creates an account, the data for that account are merely appended to the end of the "$ACCT.SYS" file. Thus. "REACT" does not maintain "$ACCT.SYS" in sorted order. Further, changes to accounts made by "REACT" and "UTILTY" are not reflected in "$ACCT.SYS".

The ACMAN package essentially replaces the "REACT" program and allows:

• Accounts to be created and deleted
• Passwords and quotas to be changed

• Account names to be changed
• Maintains the $ACCT.SYS file in sorted order
• Updates $ACCT.SYS when changes are made
• Creates all accounts on any specified disk
• Dumps a formatted copy of $ACCT.SYS to LP:

Management requests are checked for correct syntax and valid operands by several utilities:

• MANAGE allows the privileged user to do all the above.
• CHGPAS allows the non-privileged user to create/delete accounts on a private disk.
• "CHGALL" changes the passwords of all accounts with the same project number at once.

Note: The following improvements have been made. Executes about four times faster, two new utilities, two new options, improved documentation, and bugs fixed.
