Abstract: The 1401 Simulator (S1401) runs 1401 programs on the PDP-11 RSTS system. It requires 18K of memory in addition to the requirements of RSTS and BASIC-PLUS. Of this 18K, 6K is used by the S1401 "Run-Time System," and the other 12K is "user area." When multiple S1401 jobs are running "Run-Time-System" is shared by all jobs. The "user-areas" are swapped in and out by RSTS, but the "Run-Time- System" remains in memory as long as any RSTS job is using it.
